Problems Loading The Game


As well as the normal maintenance like defragging & running anti-virus scans, there ae some things we can do to help ensure we are optimsed for on-line games. Below is a check list of  tasks to help keep us "tuned up".


1: ARE YOU USING THE LATEST BROWSER?

To make sure you are running the latest browser version, check by using the "About... (browser name)" feature, you will find it under Help in the menu for MS Internet Explorer & Firefox or in the toolbox (top right corner) for Google Chrome.

If you are currently using MS Internet Explorer 9, I would recommend you try one of these two browsers. Both are smaller, faster & update Flash player automatically (Flash player is the embedded window on the page where the game plays)

2: MAKE SURE YOUR CACHE IS CLEARED:

The cache is a store of temporary internet files from recently visited web pages. It can become bloated & fragmented over time, so it is good housekeeping to clean it out regularly. It is also a good idea to restart the browser after cleaning out the cache.
** Note on deleting cookies: A lot of your favourites (including Facebook) will have your log-in contained in the cookie, if you delete cookies you will need to log-in again, that's your choice

3:CHECKING FLASH PLAYER & JAVA RUNTIME:

Flashplayer is the embedded window on the page where the game plays. Click on the Flash image to verify your Flash player is up to date... (This is the true Adobe Flash site)

The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is a common component in modern internet browsing and is used for many things, including playing games! Click on the Java image to verify your JRE is up to date... (This is the true Oracle Java site)

4: IS JAVASCRIPT ENABLED?

Zynga games utilize JavaScript which is a client side technology. If you are experiencing difficulties loading or using features within the game you may need to verify that your current internet browser has JavaScript enabled..
*** Note: If you change your Javascript setting, remember to refresh your browser after to apply.

5: FORCE A CHANGE OF IP ADDRESS:

Try either unplugging your internet connection, or turning the power off on your modem, for a while, a few minutes is OK, but overnight is better. This will cause your service provider to assign you a new IP address & re-route your connection

6: RE-INSTALL THE APP:

The oldest trick in the book, crash the app! Removing the game will not cause you to lose your current level or achievements, they are stored elsewhere.
To remove the app, go to (from inside facebook)
ACCOUNT SETTINGS --> APPS , then locate the app from the list & click "X" (remove).
